Great Lakes Foundation Awards Development Grant
to the
Silver Islet Harbour Association
The Silver Islet Harbour Association (SIHA) is pleased to announce that they have
received a grant in the amount of $26,000 from the Great Lakes Foundation (GLF)
to support the development of the Silver Islet Harbour. The funds are dedicated
to adding much needed mooring infrastructure to provide expanded capacity to
host visiting boaters. The Great Lake Foundation based in Port Huron, Michigan
is the charitable arm of the Great Lakes Cruising Club and is "dedicated to
preserving the richness of wilderness cruising areas of the Great Lakes and to
fostering the art and science of cruising". Since 1993, the Foundation has
provided over $296,000 to help fund a broad range of projects aligned with their
objectives. SIHA is very grateful to have the generous support of the GLF and we
look forward to hosting their members at our facility in boating seasons to come.
