We want your input, so please follow the link to an online survey that will help capture your ideas. This survey will be available until June 30, 2020.

SICA News Update – June 15, 2020.  This update can also be viewed in the NEWS section of our website as well as on the Silver Islet Campers facebook site.

It is with regret that the SICA Board of Directors have determined that

swimming lessons will not be possible this summer. Despite recent relaxation of some restrictions, the official guidelines and recommendations for Covid-19 prevention in swimming facilities is simply beyond our capacity to safely offer. Unsupervised swimming is permissible with proper social distancing protocols observed.

The washroom facilities and swim rafts will be opened for use once we can ensure effective and ongoing sanitizing of handled surfaces. It is hoped we can rely on members to help keep things clean as they or their children use the facilities and employ local help for additional routine sanitizing.

The changerooms will not be opened at this time. We encourage parents with children to enjoy the swimming area as it should be in summer but with the extra care and attention required in this most unusual year.

The tennis and basketball courts are open for play because distancing is possible but the volleyball net will not be put up due to the nature of the game.

Groups larger than 10 are still prohibited, so the majority of our calendar events are just not possible at this time.

We are rescheduling the Annual General Meeting to Saturday, Sept. 5 (Labour Day weekend) in hopes that by that time we can assemble to conduct Association business.

For our Junior Campers, the Canada Day parade has been cancelled for this year. The Junior Campers Meeting and remaining events will be subject to change depending on limitations of group gatherings at that time

Consider the events calendar including the AGM optimistic and provisional, but look for posted updates on an event by event basis.

WASH HANDS, PRACTICE SOCIAL DISTANCING, STAY SAFE!
